It is also where the world's largest asset manager went and found its latest target: An eight-year-old energy company with 160 employees called Vanguard Renewables. Last month BlackRock said one of its funds would acquire Vanguard (no relation to its asset management rival), which produces what the industry calls renewable natural gas, or biomethane.
